Magma 36 is out now – we’re delighted to welcome Anne-Marie Fyfe as Guest Editor for this issue. She has selected poems around the theme of ‘Inscapes’, including new poems by Seamus Heaney, Billy Collins and Medbh McGuckian.
As well as the star names listed above, Magma 36 continues our tradition of publishing many new and up-and-coming writers. The Guest Choice is John McCarthy, who talks about a poem by George Herbert.
And this issue sees the launch of a Fishing Poem Competition, in association with Keith Arthur, the voice and face of fishing on TalkSPORT and Sky Sports.
There’s the usual selection of poetry and prose from the magazine on the Magma website – with plenty more between the covers of the print edition.

Mark, I enjoyed your recent posting!
Mark McGuinness says
Thanks Hugh, posting has been a bit light recently, work commitments mean I’ve been focused on my coaching blog but I hope to write more on here soon.

Dear Mark,
Your poetry analysis is interesting, but I found you by looking for the Hiroshige print you have on this page of the bridge at night with the moon. Do you have any idea what it’s called? Where it can be found?
I’ve inherited one just like it and have no idea how to research what it is… please let me know if you know anything about it.
Thanks so much, D. Brown
Mark McGuinness says
Hi D, I wish I could inherit something like that! I don’t know much about Hiroshige but that image is no 27 of the 69 Stations of the Kisokaido. Hope that helps.
